Governor's Dinner

April 1st did not fool St Cross. Under the strong event management of member Ken Weatherley the Club ran a fundraising dinner for the St Cross ground appeal and The Rifles’ Charity “Care for Casualties” in the Great Hall in Winchester. The event was generously sponsored by Rathbones.

Mervyn King, the Governor of the Bank of England, gave a tremendous presentation  on the importance of sport in life and why he inaugurated the Chance to Shine organisation.

One hundred and eighty seven guests enjoyed the event and the financial success
was enhanced by a successful auction held by Charles Collingwood, Brian in the
Archers.
